Downtown Scottsdale’s Arts Scene
Downtown Scottsdale has more art galleries per capita than almost any other city in the U.S. – more than 125 at last count. The galleries offer a wide variety of art, including a selection of Western art of the highest caliber. The majority of galleries lie along Main Street and Marshall Way. Also on Marshall Way and directly across the street from Bespoke Inn is the Scottsdale Artists School where students from all over the world come to paint, draw or sculpt.

Downtown Scottsdale has also hosted the Thursday night ArtWalk for more than 30 years. Every Thursday, from 7 to 9 p.m., galleries open their doors to the public and show off the works of some of the Southwest’s most talented artists. Or, explore Downtown Scottsdale public art, featuring more than 50 pieces, including the newly dedicated Soleri Bridge and Plaza along the waterfront just west of Scottsdale Road.

Want Sports?
February through March, support the 2012 World Champion San Francisco Giants as they warm up for the season in Scottsdale. Watch the Boys of Summer in a Spring Training game at Scottsdale Stadium (7408 E. Osborn Rd), or catch one of their workouts at the sports complex at Indian School Park (4289 N. Hayden Rd.).

If your loyalties lie with another team, chances are your favorite team will play at the Scottsdale Stadium sometime during the month of March. So bring the family out for a day at the park. If you’re here in October, head to Scottsdale Stadium for an Arizona Fall League game. Cheer on the Scottsdale Scorpions as they take on top minor leaguers from both the American and National leagues. Former Fall League players include Dustin Pedroia, Brandon Webb and Derek Jeter, so who knows what future star you could see, and these games are priced right for families.
